Webinar – Security awareness: challenges in the university sector
Universities face a wide range of security threats – from harassment and pressure on staff and students to an unstable global situation. Added to this are risks to our physical campuses and critical infrastructure such as disruptions to electricity and water which can quickly impact teaching and research. These developments call for crisis preparedness and resilience.
The real challenge is finding the right balance: It’s not about closing the university, but about ensuring we can keep it open – even in difficult times.
NUAS Faculty Administration group presents a webinar featuring discussions on these issues with Malmö university IT Director Magnus Wikforss and Head of Security Andreas Lendt, moderated by Daniel Harju Popow. In their positions, both Magnus and Andreas address such challenges on a daily basis. There will also be opportunity to ask questions during the session.
Magnus Wikforss is the head of Malmö University’s IT department in Sweden. He has a background in various managerial positions within public organizations. Magnus always stands on the side of the operations and strives to act as a link between specialist functions and operational staff. He holds a master’s degree in business administration with a specialization in management, as well as a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Technology is just a tool!
Andreas Lendt is the Head of Security at Malmö University with previous experience from the Swedish Armed Forces and the Swedish Police Authority. He has experience in leadership, organization, and training, including in crisis management.
Daniel Harju Popow is a communication officer at Malmö University with extensive experience in university communications, supporting higher-education institutions through strategic messaging, media relations, marketing, student recruitment, and community outreach.
