Webinar – The future communicators on Digital Media Arenas

December 9 @ 09:30 - 10:30

In the December NUAS Communications webinar we will discuss how digitalization is transforming the roles and responsibilities of communication professionals. From managing online conversations to responding to new social trends, digital tools are reshaping how organisations connect with their audiences — and the responsibilities that come with it.

Professor and Vice Dean Vilma Luoma-aho from the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics, Finland introduces the Digital Media-Arena (DMA) Framework, developed by Badham et al. (2022, 2024) which identifies 14 digital spaces where communication happens today — from the internal chats to global social platforms. Professor Luoma-aho will discuss what it means for communication teams today and tomorrow: how roles are shifting, what new skills are needed, and how to stay ahead in an ever-changing digital world.

The discussion is facilitated by Maria Crona, Malmö Universitet and member of NUAS Communication Group.

The webinar is free for all NUAS members. To join the webinar, please use the Zoom link below on December 9 at 9:30-10:30 CET (IS 8:30-9:30, FI 10:30-11:30).
