Jórunn Magnúsdóttir has been appointed as the new General Secretary for NUAS.
Holding a master’s degree in educational science, Jórunn Magnúsdóttir has previously served as the Director of Studies at the University of Greenland, the International Coordinator at the Academy of Fine Arts in Iceland, and most recently, as a Senior Consultant in Study Administration at the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen.
Søren Lind Christiansen, the University Director at Aalborg University, who will assume the role of NUAS chair from January 2024, commented on the appointment:
“I am pleased that Jórunn has accepted the position of General Secretary. Jorunn has a strong professional background, and her Nordic experience adds to her qualifications. I am confident that she will contribute to the development and strengthening of collaboration within NUAS.”
Jórunn Magnúsdóttir stated:
“Nordic cooperation is essential, and I look forward to contributing to NUAS’s efforts to enhance collaboration and knowledge exchange in administrative matters across the Nordic universities. I am very excited to begin this work and I look forward to meeting all those who are engaged in NUAS.”
Jórunn Magnúsdóttir will commence her new role on January 1, 2024, and the new General Secretary will be part of the Secretariat for Universities Denmark, located in Copenhagen.
