SUMMARY:Sharing knowledge and joy – how to get the most out of LinkedIn
DESCRIPTION:NUAS Communication Group invites you to the webinar: Sharing knowledge and joy – how to get the most out of LinkedIn\nLinkedIn is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms in the world. Unlike Facebook\, it‘s still possible to get great outreach without paying for it.  Despite this\, many organisations and individuals merely use LinkedIn for recruitment\, employer branding and job searches. At Malmö University\, we primarily use LinkedIn to strengthen the image of how our research and collaboration work towards a better society. Highlighting the importance of channel strategy\, quality content and knowing the perks of this often under-utilised social media platform\, this webinar will give you an insight in how to increase your outreach and follower engagement on LinkedIn in a strategic way. \nEllen Albertsdóttir is a research communicator at Malmö University.  As a senior strategist with over 10 years’ experience in storytelling and making science accessible to a wide audience\, Ellen has a proven track record within social media. She has managed the University’s LinkedIn page for two years\, successfully utilizing it to highlight research and collaboration. \nThis webinar will take place 04 February from 14:00–15:00 CET (UTC+1)\, please check your local time if you are outside of the Central European Time Zone. \nRegister at: https://nettskjema.no/a/176919 to receive a link to the Zoom room before the event.

SUMMARY:Indexing your scientists’ social media activity
DESCRIPTION:NUAS Communication Group invites you to the webinar: Indexing your scientists’ social media activity\nMike Young launched a new index in 2019 that ranks and compares scientists’ social media impact.  It uses a new method to compare scientists based on their follower numbers on the social media platforms most relevant for scientists and researchers – namely Twitter and LinkedIn.   The first iterations of the index (2019 and 2020) were for the Greater Copenhagen / Øresund region and for Denmark. In 2021\, the index will include other measures of impact – and other regions.   The results\, and the feedback from participating scientists\, offers lessons to all communications staff at universities.  In this webinar\, Mike will focus on the lessons from the index on improving research outreach\, and on how scientists can be nudged into becoming science ‘ambassadors’ for their universities.  How does your university encourage scientists’ social media activity and behaviour? In the last part of the webinar\, your feedback will be appreciated and discussed. \nAbout: Mike Young does science communication and social media courses for researchers through his own Mike Young Academy. He used to be Editor of the University Post\, an English-language media hub at the University of Copenhagen for students and scientists (2009-2016). \nThis webinar will take place 09 March from 14:00–15:00 CET (UTC+1)\, please check your local time if you are outside of the Central European Time Zone. \nRegister at: https://nettskjema.no/a/176924#/page/1 to receive a link to the Zoom room before the event.

SUMMARY:Pioneer of open science - Is Finland meeting the expectations?
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to know more about open science in Finland? \nFinland has declared itself a pioneer of open science in Europe. This goal is supported by the unique national coordination of open science\, which is financially supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Development has been very rapid in recent years: setting up coordination\, preparing declarations and recommendations based on the research community\, evaluating the level of maturity of open science of the research organizations\, building a new evaluation model (in progress)\, etc. It is characteristic of the Finnish operating model that national recommendations are produced in co-operation with research organizations\, not on the initiative of the Ministry. By the way\, a similar national co-operation model has been implemented e.g. guiding good scientific practice (responsible conduct of research) and quality management and audits of the universities. \nSee: https://avointiede.fi/en \nAgenda: \n\nOpening\, Head of Research Development Markku Ihonen\, Research Services\, Tampere University\nDialogue between\n\nNational coordination of open science\, Head of Development\, National Open Science\, Henriikka Mustajoki\, The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies\nOpen Science Practices at the University of Jyväskylä\, Head of Services\, Arto Ikonen\, Open Science Center\, University of Jyväskylä\n\n\nDiscussion\n\nThe presentation from this webinar is online at: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AmG6IG2yBZj6mVOSJKQmxMIso6Om?e=aWqNbi \nNUAS Research and Innovation group

SUMMARY:NUAS Legal Webinar: Conflicts of interest in research projects
DESCRIPTION:In the guidelines for research ethics in Norway\, it is stated that “both researchers and research institutions should maintain their independence in relation to their principals”. Conflicts of interest in research refers to situations in which financial or other personal considerations may compromise\, or have the appearance of compromising the researcher’s professional judgement in conducting or reporting research. If the independence of the researcher or the research institution is questioned\, the credibility of the research could be questioned. \nThe subject for this webinar is therefore examining the different institutional systems available for handling conflicts of interest in research projects. \nProgramme: \n12.00 – 12.40 Regulations for sideline jobs and owner interests at UiO\nBerit Hernes Bakke\, Personnel Manager\, University of Oslo. \n12.45– 13.25 Conflicts of interest.\nSøren Friis Hansen\, Professor\, Copenhagen Business School. \nThis Webinar is now fully booked.

SUMMARY:Announcement
DESCRIPTION:In memorium. \nIt is with great sadness that the Board of NUAS informs the NUAS community of the passing of Niels Henrik Larsen\, Director of CBS International Office\, and dedicated member of NUAS. \nNiels Henrik passed away November 15 due to cancer. \nNiels Henrik started his career at CBS in 1999 in the International office\, became deputy director in 2008 and was appointed Director of the International office at CBS in 2018. Niels Henrik was very passionate about international education and student affairs\, offering students at CBS valuable experience through studying abroad and used innovative methods to get students and staff involved. \nNiels Henrik´s other passion was NUAS. He was very committed to our Nordic network and contributed greatly through his leadership in the International group along with taking a seat on the NUAS Board representing group leaders. Niels Henrik was part of the NUAS Forum 2019 executive board and made a valued contribution to its success. \nNiels Henrik was a “people person” who enjoyed networking\, creating new relations and enhancing students´ experience. He was also an “ildsjæl” who inspired others and had the talent of pointing out different perspectives of a matter which led to common understanding and solutions. \nThe news of Niels Henrik has brought a great response from the NUAS community where he is remembered for his commitment and work within NUAS and his kind person and warmth. \nThe NUAS board and community would like to extend their sincere condolences to Niels Henrik´s family and daughter\, his colleagues at CBS and NUAS friends. \nHe will be greatly missed. \nBless the memory of Niels Henrik Larsen

SUMMARY:NUAS Internationalisation dialogue II - NUAS webinar on responsible internationalisation
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to NUAS webinar on responsible internationalisation\, February 8 at 13.15-14.45 CET \nNUAS Internationalisation dialogue II: Nordic examples on institutional code of conduct and risk management for responsible university internationalisation \nIn recent years\, international academic cooperation has become increasingly dependent on political\, economic\, and social contexts. This may create challenges for collaboration and fieldwork in countries that differ from the Nordic countries in terms of academic freedom\, corruption\, legislation\, and the respect for human rights. The NUAS internationalisation group has therefore identified a joint interest among Nordic higher education institutions to understand existing structures\, guidelines\, and support for collaboration with such countries. \nThis webinar will present practical examples on how Nordic universities can assess\, decrease\, and mitigate challenges in international cooperation for students as well as staff. Different types of code-of-conduct and risk management systems will be discussed. Ways of improving administrative staff knowledge will be shared. \nRegistration is open till February 7

Since\n2009\, Swedish authorities have been required to have a process-based information\nmanagement according to the regulations from the National Archive\, but the University of\nGothenburg has gone from talking about processes to instead talking about capabilities and\nhas merged the archive's classification structure with the IT capability architecture. They will\ntalk about why this was done and what consequences it has for the information management. \nJoin us for a webinar on this exciting topic! \nPlease forward this invitation to your colleagues. The webinar is aimed at everyone who works\nwith information management\, everything from IT to archivists and record managers. \nKind Regards\nThe NUAS Record Management Group
