DESCRIPTION:Circular public procurement (CPP) is one way to increase sustainability and circularity in public spending. As previous research focuses primarily on procurement\, more insight is needed on the latter stages CPP. Real-life examples of CPP implementation are also required to promote the concept to practitioners\, improve governance\, and add depth to the literature. \nThe study “Implementation and management of a circular public procurement contract for furniture” (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/frsus.2023.1136725/full)\, therefore\, provides in-depth knowledge of CPP implementation and management by analyzing a case of circular furniture flows and its implications for the procuring organization. \nThe essay Interior architecture in the circular economy: Quality and sustainability aspects of interior design in public environments https://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:su:diva-183697  investigates composite design qualities in interior design and how these can be made more sustainable in the circular economy. Greater demands are placed on a reuse of products. Climate change requires us to slow down our consumption. How do we embrace the changes? \nOf course\, there will also be a social program opening with a welcome reception in the evening on May 14\, a get-together dinner on Wednesday\, time to network and mingle throughout the workshop and a visit to the award winning and recently renovated University Museum. \nThe target groups for the workshop are faculty level administrative directors and leaders with general administrative or service responsibilities for their organization\, (e.g.\, directors of faculty\, administrative managers\, heads of administration\, services managers\, and equivalent\, middle management in the university). Heads of administration or equivalent at department level are welcome too\, as well as all other university administrators who find interest in the workshop. \nWe are expecting 60-80 participants from Iceland\, Finland\, Denmark\, Sweden\, The Faroe Islands and Norway. DESCRIPTION:The Nordic countries are known for their strong performance in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Yet\, challenges remain in several diversity\, equality\, and inclusion related SDGs. What is the role of universities as employers and educators in addressing the different inclusion-related SDGs? How can universities better address the key inclusivity challenges for the staff (administration\, teaching\, and research) and students? \nThe seminar is moderated by Nikodemus Solitander\, Associate Dean of Sustainability at Hanken School of Economics. The speakers include Shadia Rask\, PhD\, Visiting researcher at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare\, Liisa Husu\, Senior Professor at Örebro University and affiliated scholar at Hanken School of Economics\, and Hisayo Katsui\, Professor in Disability Studies at the University of Helsinki. The initiative has been very well received by higher education institutions\, not least in the Nordic countries. \nIn this webinar\, we will explore institutional experiences in the Nordics to gain an overview of the reasons for being part of – or not being part of – the EUI. Since the EUI call 2024 has been flagged as perhaps the last one for new alliances\, what possible scenarios do we see for the next few years\, and what will they mean for HEIs who are not yet part of an alliance?What does the EUI mean for internationalisation in general\, and how do Nordic universities respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by the initiative? To put it differently\, if EUI is the answer\, what was the question? \nIn some\, typically larger universities\, the European Universities Initiative is only a part of their internationalisation efforts\, in smaller ones\, being involved in a European University Alliance seems to be their ‘whole’ scope of internationalisation. Different taxi companies have different lanes at the airport and their pricing vary.
