SUMMARY:NUAS’ Library Group: Open Science Workshops for Library Directors
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: THE ROLES OF LIBRARIES IN CITIZEN SCIENCE\nOnline on October 7th 2020 at 15:00 – 17:00 (Finnish time) \nCitizen Science is an integrated part of Open Science and it is fast emerging as a possible platform for a dialogue between universities and society. A number of European associations such as LERU\, YERUN and LIBER recommend that universities create a Single Point of Contact for Citizen Science within universities. In accordance\, research libraries could pursue this opportunity.\nCitizen Science seeks the inclusion and empowerment for citizens while establishing a dialogue and is based on FAIR data. But what is Citizen Science\, exactly? What is the possible roles of libraries? What strategies should we pursue? How do we establish a Single Point of Contact? What are researchers expecting from us? \nBased on research data from Denmark\, as well as strategic observations from a number of European libraries\, this workshop will enable the participants to: \n\nGet a clear picture of the multilayered landscape of Citizen Science\nGet first points towards a strategy and\nAnd an outline of services that are in alignment with universities and the needs of researchers.\n\nThe goal of the workshop is to ascertain a possible commitment to Citizen Science collaboration. \nProgramme: \n14.00 Welcome (Pia Södergård\, Chair of NUAS’ Library Group); Programme and Goals (Thomas Kaarsted\, Deputy Library Director\, SDU) \n14.05 The Citizen Science landscape and research libraries in Denmark: recommendations for the future (Kristian Hvidtfelt Nielsen\, Associate professor\, Aarhus University) \n14.20 A Single point of contact for Citizen Science (Anne Kathrine Overgaard\, Head of external projects\, Health Science SDU) \n14.35 Possible grant opportunies (Thomas Kaarsted\, Deputy Library director\, SDU Library) \n14.45 Break out groups \n15.30 Discussion and conclusions

SUMMARY:Sharing knowledge and joy – how to get the most out of LinkedIn
DESCRIPTION:NUAS Communication Group invites you to the webinar: Sharing knowledge and joy – how to get the most out of LinkedIn\nLinkedIn is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms in the world. Unlike Facebook\, it‘s still possible to get great outreach without paying for it.  Despite this\, many organisations and individuals merely use LinkedIn for recruitment\, employer branding and job searches. SUMMARY:Indexing your scientists’ social media activity
DESCRIPTION:NUAS Communication Group invites you to the webinar: Indexing your scientists’ social media activity\nMike Young launched a new index in 2019 that ranks and compares scientists’ social media impact.  It uses a new method to compare scientists based on their follower numbers on the social media platforms most relevant for scientists and researchers – namely Twitter and LinkedIn.   The first iterations of the index (2019 and 2020) were for the Greater Copenhagen / Øresund region and for Denmark. In 2021\, the index will include other measures of impact – and other regions.   The results\, and the feedback from participating scientists\, offers lessons to all communications staff at universities.  In this webinar\, Mike will focus on the lessons from the index on improving research outreach\, and on how scientists can be nudged into becoming science ‘ambassadors’ for their universities.  How does your university encourage scientists’ social media activity and behaviour? In the last part of the webinar\, your feedback will be appreciated and discussed. \nAbout: Mike Young does science communication and social media courses for researchers through his own Mike Young Academy. He used to be Editor of the University Post\, an English-language media hub at the University of Copenhagen for students and scientists (2009-2016). \nThis webinar will take place 09 March from 14:00–15:00 CET (UTC+1)\, please check your local time if you are outside of the Central European Time Zone. \nRegister at: https://nettskjema.no/a/176924#/page/1 to receive a link to the Zoom room before the event.
