SUMMARY:Leaving X – But What's Next?
DESCRIPTION:Leaving X – But What’s Next? – Research Outreach on Ever New Platforms NUAS Communications webinar 5. February 2025 at 11:00 CET\nMeet three Nordic communicators and researchers\, each with their own experiences from either leaving X or turning to use a new open social platform\, for example LinkedIn or Bluesky.\nFormerly known as Twitter\, X has been a preferred platform for researchers\, as well as crisis management for EU bureaucrats and communicators across the world. Why do so many researchers and education institutions leave X? Despite Elon Musk’s – in some circles – bad reputation\, it is still a viable platform to reach out to the many stakeholders.And\, more urgent – for many communicators working to disseminate and keep a good channel open for our researchers – why and how should we take on the ever-shifting channels\, and how can we build a new group of followers and stay trustworthy as research receivers? \nStåle Tvete Vollan\, Norwegian Academy of Music and member of NUAS Communication Group moderates this highly topical webinar. \nThe webinar is free for all NUAS members.Just click the link here to join the webinar on Zoom (uib.no) on 5. February at 11:00-12:00 CET (IS 10:00-11:00\, FI 12:00-13:00 )https://uib.zoom.us/j/61174822735?pwd=1vSezEjYBrPyZAlZfK1ijLfTwAwNqj.1 \nAt the webinar you will meet:\nMarjo Loisa\, Director of Communications at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare\, Helsinki\, FinlandMarjo Loisa is an experienced communications professional. The Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research is a research centre studying the Earths climate system\, yet the research is still quickly caught in political debates. As social media has become an important tool for reaching the public\, these channels can be a challenge to manage. Due to such challenges\, the Bjerknes Centre decided last year to leave the platform X and enter Bluesky. You can follow Gudrun Urd Sylte on LinkedIn or BlueSky. \nEmma Elinor Lundin\, PhD\, historian\, Department of Society\, Culture and Identity\, University of Malmö Emma Lundin is a historian specializing in global liberation movements and gender politics\, with a PhD from Birkbeck\, University of London. SUMMARY:Webinar: Implementation and management of a circular public procurement contract for furniture
DESCRIPTION:Circular public procurement (CPP) is one way to increase sustainability and circularity in public spending. As previous research focuses primarily on procurement\, more insight is needed on the latter stages CPP. Real-life examples of CPP implementation are also required to promote the concept to practitioners\, improve governance\, and add depth to the literature. \nThe study “Implementation and management of a circular public procurement contract for furniture” (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/frsus.2023.1136725/full)\, therefore\, provides in-depth knowledge of CPP implementation and management by analyzing a case of circular furniture flows and its implications for the procuring organization. \nThe essay Interior architecture in the circular economy: Quality and sustainability aspects of interior design in public environments https://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:su:diva-183697  investigates composite design qualities in interior design and how these can be made more sustainable in the circular economy. Greater demands are placed on a reuse of products. Climate change requires us to slow down our consumption. Working life is moving towards a more flexible physical environment where people must constantly make choices. \nProgram\nThe Webinar will be hosted by Sofia Lingegård (Researcher KTH)\, Kristina von Oelreich\, Sustainability Manager/Researcher and Marika Strömberg (Interior architect) KTH\, Royal Institute of Technology. \n\nWelcome and introduction\, Kristina von Oelreich\nKey note speaker\, Sofia Lingegård\, Implementation and management of a circular public procurement contract for furniture.\nKey note speaker\, Marika Strömberg- Circular property management – how to extend the lifespan of public spaces.\nCoffee break 10 min\nBreak out rooms foe sharing experience and knowledge\nReporting back in Plenum\, Kristina von Oelreich\n\nDates: \nWednesday 1 November 14:00-16:00 ECT \nLocation \nJoin Zoom Meeting https://kth-se.zoom.us/j/67348074538

SUMMARY:NUAS Internationalisation dialogue II - NUAS webinar on responsible internationalisation
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to NUAS webinar on responsible internationalisation\, February 8 at 13.15-14.45 CET \nNUAS Internationalisation dialogue II: Nordic examples on institutional code of conduct and risk management for responsible university internationalisation \nIn recent years\, international academic cooperation has become increasingly dependent on political\, economic\, and social contexts. This may create challenges for collaboration and fieldwork in countries that differ from the Nordic countries in terms of academic freedom\, corruption\, legislation\, and the respect for human rights. The NUAS internationalisation group has therefore identified a joint interest among Nordic higher education institutions to understand existing structures\, guidelines\, and support for collaboration with such countries. \nThis webinar will present practical examples on how Nordic universities can assess\, decrease\, and mitigate challenges in international cooperation for students as well as staff. Different types of code-of-conduct and risk management systems will be discussed. Ways of improving administrative staff knowledge will be shared. \nRegistration is open till February 7

SUMMARY:NUAS Legal Webinar: Conflicts of interest in research projects
DESCRIPTION:In the guidelines for research ethics in Norway\, it is stated that “both researchers and research institutions should maintain their independence in relation to their principals”. Conflicts of interest in research refers to situations in which financial or other personal considerations may compromise\, or have the appearance of compromising the researcher’s professional judgement in conducting or reporting research. If the independence of the researcher or the research institution is questioned\, the credibility of the research could be questioned. \nThe subject for this webinar is therefore examining the different institutional systems available for handling conflicts of interest in research projects. \nProgramme: \n12.00 – 12.40 Regulations for sideline jobs and owner interests at UiO\nBerit Hernes Bakke\, Personnel Manager\, University of Oslo. \n12.45– 13.25 Conflicts of interest.\nSøren Friis Hansen\, Professor\, Copenhagen Business School. \nThis Webinar is now fully booked.

SUMMARY:Indexing your scientists’ social media activity
DESCRIPTION:NUAS Communication Group invites you to the webinar: Indexing your scientists’ social media activity\nMike Young launched a new index in 2019 that ranks and compares scientists’ social media impact.  It uses a new method to compare scientists based on their follower numbers on the social media platforms most relevant for scientists and researchers – namely Twitter and LinkedIn.   The first iterations of the index (2019 and 2020) were for the Greater Copenhagen / Øresund region and for Denmark. In 2021\, the index will include other measures of impact – and other regions.   The results\, and the feedback from participating scientists\, offers lessons to all communications staff at universities.  In this webinar\, Mike will focus on the lessons from the index on improving research outreach\, and on how scientists can be nudged into becoming science ‘ambassadors’ for their universities.  How does your university encourage scientists’ social media activity and behaviour? In the last part of the webinar\, your feedback will be appreciated and discussed. \nAbout: Mike Young does science communication and social media courses for researchers through his own Mike Young Academy. He used to be Editor of the University Post\, an English-language media hub at the University of Copenhagen for students and scientists (2009-2016). \nThis webinar will take place 09 March from 14:00–15:00 CET (UTC+1)\, please check your local time if you are outside of the Central European Time Zone. \nRegister at: https://nettskjema.no/a/176924#/page/1 to receive a link to the Zoom room before the event.

SUMMARY:Sharing knowledge and joy – how to get the most out of LinkedIn
DESCRIPTION:NUAS Communication Group invites you to the webinar: Sharing knowledge and joy – how to get the most out of LinkedIn\nLinkedIn is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms in the world. She has managed the University’s LinkedIn page for two years\, successfully utilizing it to highlight research and collaboration. \nThis webinar will take place 04 February from 14:00–15:00 CET (UTC+1)\, please check your local time if you are outside of the Central European Time Zone. \nRegister at: https://nettskjema.no/a/176919 to receive a link to the Zoom room before the event.
